ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

&nbsp; &nbsp;Mathematics,like music has a language of its own.Just as musicians make music to satisfy their creative needs .most Mathematicians are happy working at Mathematics for its own shake.Engaging with Mathematics at Undergraduate level can therefore serve a twofold purpose: one,providing oppourtunity to explore and&nbsp; appriciete the power of Maths and second is equipping the students with skills to match upto thye inevitable changes within an ever developing world.&nbsp;
The Department of Mathematics ,Cooch Behar College ,was established in July,2008.Initially,it was first offered as a discipline for the B.Sc. General programme with 10 students and after a year,the Honours programme with 10 students and after a year,the Honours programme in Mathematics was started with 17 students .Now it reaches to 110.
